Hoverboards Banned At Ohio University
< < Back to hoverboards-banned-at-ohio-universityOhio University has instituted a ban on the use and storage of “hoverboards” in all university buildings due to growing safety concerns over the products from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to a news release issued by Ohio University, the university’s Office of Risk Management and Safety has also issued a safety alert advising users to be aware of the hazards associated with hoverboards, including fires caused by battery packs and risk of falls causing serious injury.
According to the Associated Press, at least 20 universities have banned or restricted hoverboards on their campuses in recent weeks.
