In the first half of Thursday’s matchup, the Eastern Lady Eagles outscored the Miller Lady Falcons 33-14, but a sloppy second half allowed Miller to give Eastern a run for its money. However, the Lady Eagles prevailed and defeated the Lady Falcons 49-34.

Eastern was able to make smart passes, with multiple players stepping up offensively. Laura Pullins was able to hit 12 points, Elizabeth Collins dropped 10 points, and Jess Parker played consistent behind the three-point line.

Not only did the Lady Eagles dominate offensively, but they also forced Miller’s defense to take shots from the outside and successfully held a tight zone.

The Lady Eagles did not seem to return with the spark they started the game with. Although they held on to the lead, they faced adversity in the second half, giving up 20 points. Although Eastern only made 4 points in the final quarter and struggled offensively in the second half as a whole, guard Laura Pullins found her rhythm offensively Thursday night.

The Eastern Lady Eagles will take this win and enjoy a week off when they go to travel to face the South Gallia Lady Rebels. The road for the Miller Lady Falcons won’t get any easier as they face the No. 1 team in the state on the road in Waterford
