The Ohio Bobcats defeat the Toledo Rockets 77-57, adding a 15th win to their record. The ‘Cats were led by Kiyanna Black’s career night tallying 38 points, 30 of which were scored from behind-the-arc.

Black’s 10 3-point baskets scored against the Rockets put her at the top of both the Mid-Atlantic Conference and Bobcat record books for 3-pointers made in a game. With another record under her belt, Black’s reaffirms her dominance in the MAC.

Ball movement kept Ohio hot throughout the game, plus Coach Bob Boldon’s stress on efficient passing also contributed to the team’s success. Quiera Lampkins and Kelly Karlis dished out 5 and 4 assists respectively, contributing nine of the team’s total of 16.

All in all, the outcome of the game lied heavily with the performance by Black. Along with Black’s success, the depth of the Bobcats and the strategy applied by Coach Boldon continue to be the foundation of the ‘Cats winning season.

Ohio returns home February 17 to take on its MAC rival Miami at 7pm.
