Giannini and Dorsey Earn Ohio Scholar Athlete Honors

Ohio baseball’s catcher Tony Giannini and Ohio softball’s pitcher Savannah Jo Dorsey picked up Scholar Athlete of the Week honors from Ohio University.

Giannini is a sophomore marketing major with a 3.40 cummulative GPA. He’s batting .357 with a team high five hits and a team-tying six RBIs. He went 2 for 3 in Sunday’s win over UAB with a go ahead two-run homer in the seventh.

Dorsey is a redshirt junior biological sciences major with a 3.27 cummulative GPA. She went 2-1 in the circle posting a 1.25 ERA over four appearances and two starts in the 2016 season. She’s racked up 41 strikeouts so far this season.
