West Virginia Substance Abuse Treatment Centers Get Funding

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – Nearly $1.8 million in federal funds have been awarded to support substance abuse treatment services at five West Virginia health centers.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell announcing the funding Friday. It is for the Cabin Creek Health Systems in Dawes, Change Inc. in Weirton, Community Care of West Virginia Inc. in Rock Cave, Valley Health Systems Inc. of Huntington, and Womencare Inc. of Scott Depot.

The department says the funding will help increase the number of patients screened for substance abuse and provide training for health professionals.
