HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) – Children in third through ninth grades can take part in the West Virginia Science Adventures program next month.

Marshall University’s Sustainability Department and College of Education are working together to host the two sessions, on Sunday and again April 10. Sessions will be taught through green sustainability concepts and nature-based activities.

Eve Marcum-Atkinson of the Sustainability Department said in a news release that the first session will focus on plants and nutrition, while the April 10 session will teach children how to grow their own food.

The sessions will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Marshall’s Huntington campus. Participants should dress for outdoor garden activities. Program fees are $10 per day per student, or $15 per student for both days.
