Ohio Glass Company Found With ‘Serious’ Safety Issues
< < Back to ohio-glass-company-found-with-serious-safety-issuesMORAINE, Ohio (AP) — Federal safety regulators say they have found two “serious” safety issues at a glass products company in southwest Ohio and have fined the business $14,000.
The Dayton Daily News reports the citations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration involve a lack of guarding that would prevent a machine from catching or touching an employee’s hands and fingers. The other issue involves not securing floor coverings over a grate at the Fuyao Glass America Inc.
The company is located at the site of a former General Motors Co. plant in Moraine.
An OSHA spokeswoman says one issue was corrected “on the spot” during an inspection.
Fuyao officials say issues identified at the plant have been corrected.
Fuyao and OSHA officials say no one has been injured at the plant.
