MIDDLEPORT, Ohio (WSAZ) — The death of an elderly man in Middleport has been ruled a homicide.

Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood tells WSAZ a family member found 74-year-old Dale Miller dead in his home in the 600 block of High Street Wednesday morning about 10:30 a.m.

His cause of death has not been released.

Investigators say after killing Miller the suspect(s) took his blue 1999 Ford extended cab truck with a silver tailgate. It has silver stripes on the side, similar to a lightning bolt.

The vehicle was reportedly seen in Gallia County on Tuesday.

Sheriff Wood advises people to not approach the vehicle if they see it. You are asked to call the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office or local law enforcement.
