The Delaware County prosecutor says two guns were found in fired lieutenant William Elschlager’s Marietta home – one firearm that was supposed to have been destroyed, another logged as having been returned to its owner.
No attorney is listed for fired lieutenant William Elschlager in the theft case. A message seeking comment was left Friday for his attorney from the stalking case in Washington County.
A spokesman says the patrol doesn’t tolerate behavior like Elschlager’s and quickly ended his employment in February after learning of his alleged crimes.
He had been the Marietta post commander.
