The pieces were carried by convoy from New York on Thursday and arrived in time for an evening ceremony in Huntington. The Charleston Gazette-Mail (http://bit.ly/1rIJQ0e ) reports the ceremony provided a chance to pay respects to victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center in New York, as well as first responders, veterans and active members of the military.
Tom Bowen of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s search and rescue team after 9/11 helped carry the pieces to Huntington and said he saw hundreds of people on a bridge cheering for the convoy as it passed on the way Thursday.
