< < Back to former-ohio-mens-basketball-player-signs-to-play-in-belgiumFormer Ohio men’s basketball player Treg Setty has signed with the Leuven Bears in Belgium, the former Bobcat announced on his Instagram page Sunday.
The Bears play in the 13-team Scooore League. The Scooore League is the highest level of professional basketball in the European country.
Setty was clearly a fan favorite every time he stepped onto the Convocation Center court, where fans would chant his name and hold cardboard cutouts of him in the stands.
A transfer from Southern Illinois University, Setty played three seasons in the green and white, and averaged 12.0 points and 5.1 rebounds this past season. Both of those were career highs. He also averaged a career-high 28.1 minutes per game in 2015-16.
On March 16, the 6-foot-9, 200-pounder scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Ohio’s 94-90 overtime win over Albany in the College Basketball Invitational.
In 2015-16, the Bears finished in last place with a record of 5-22.
