Blue Angels Cancel Appearance at Dayton Air Show
< < Back toDAYTON, Ohio (AP) – The Blue Angels have canceled an appearance at an Ohio air show after a member of the elite fighter jet performance team died in a crash while practicing in Tennessee.
Officials say the Dayton Air Show will continue as scheduled on June 18-19 despite the Blue Angels’ absence. Organizers plan to add another attraction to the feature flying show, as well as a tribute to the late Captain Jeff Kuss.
The 32-year-old Kuss was practicing for an air show when his F/A-18 jet crashed near Nashville, Tennessee, just after takeoff on June 2.
The Blue Angels were one of 12 attractions scheduled to appear at the 42nd annual air show in Dayton. More than 24 military aircraft will be on display at the event.
