< < Back to nelsonville-man-gets-four-year-prison-sentence-for-child-abuseA Nelsonville man was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to charges regarding abuse to his infant son.
Nathan T. Pyke was charged after an investigation by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office and Athens County Children Services into a claim of abuse.
“Inconsistent stories pertaining to a visible injury on a five-month-old infant triggered the investigation,” a press release from the sheriff’s office stated.
Along with the bruising, investigators said a medical examination showed three fractured ribs “in various stages of healing.”
Pyke pleaded guilty on Wednesday to an indictment that charged him with felonious assault and endangering children, both felony offenses. In addition to the four-year prison, Pyke was sentened to three years of mandatory post-release control, according to a press release from the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.
