CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A Charleston woman has admitted to stabbing her roommate to death almost two years ago.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail reports Patricia Miller pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on Monday in the death of 29-year-old Victoria Summers.

Miller, who was originally charged with first-degree murder, was sentenced to 25 years in prison as part of a plea deal.

Miller stabbed Summers to death with a knife on Oct. 16, 2014. Prosecutors say the two women had argued earlier that day and then had another argument later in the day, which led to the stabbing.

Miller apologized to Summers’ family in court on Monday.
