< < Back to couple-indicted-on-child-endangerment-countsTwo people accused of using “excessive discipline” on two children have been indicted by an Athens County grand jury.
David A. Wright, 36, of Pleasant Hill Road in Athens and Amy L. Pond, 37, of Indiana, are charged with multiple counts of endangering children, according to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.
The two are accused of physically abusing Pond’s two children between June 18 and June 25 for being “unable to carry out chores,” the prosecutor’s office stated in a press release.
“Metal horseshoes were placed around the necks of the children and they were forced to hold and carry heavy objects,” the release stated.
The pair now face 16 counts each of child endangerment, according to court documents.
Arraignment for both Wright and Pond is scheduled for July 20.
Both are being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on $25,000 bond each.
