School of Art And Design To Host ‘2Legit2Quit,’ Graduate Student Exhibition
< < Back to school-of-art-and-design-to-host-2legit2quit-graduate-student-exhibitionThe School of Art + Design proudly presents the exhibition 2Legit2Quit, the work of second year graduate students in the M.F.A. studio program, on view Aug. 30 to Sept. 24, 2016 with an opening reception on Thursday, Sept. 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Ohio University Art Gallery, Seigfred Hall.
As part of the Master of Fine Arts program at Ohio University, graduate students participate in first and second year group exhibitions and one or two-person third year thesis exhibitions. Students are expected to install their work, layout the gallery, design a show poster and title for the gallery and host an opening reception.
This year’s exhibition, 2Legit2Quit, will feature new work by:
• Ceramics: Sam Briegel, Katie Sleyman, Erik Zohn
• Graphic Design: Shiva Ghasemi, Jing Ding
• Painting & Drawing: Seph Callaway, Rebecca Chmielewski, Hillary Gattian, Emily Thomason
• Photography: Cassidy Brauner, Jason Loesberg, Andrew Musil
• Printmaking: Andrew Barger, Sadie Meade, Jacob Parker, Angela Sprunger, Anh Ta
• Sculpture: Dylan Berry, Rebekah Halbirt, Michael Molloy, Averia Wright
The title, “2Legit2Quit,” is taken from the M.C. Hammer song, and is a follow up from last year’s exhibition title taken from the Foreigner song, “It Feels Like the First Time.”
The Ohio University Art Gallery is located in Seigfred Hall on the fifth floor. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10a.m. – 4p.m. and Thursday, 10a.m. – 8p.m.
