The School of Art + Design is proud to announce this year’s annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition, with guest juror Astria Suparak, on view in the Ohio University Art Gallery, Seigfred Hall Nov. 8 through Dec. 3.

The exhibition consists of a variety of works by undergraduate students enrolled in any class in the School of Art + Design.  This juried show draws hundreds of applicants across the school, showcasing the best work of our undergraduate students.
This year’s juror, Astria Suparak, has curated exhibitions, screenings, live music events and performances for art spaces, film festivals and academic venues internationally. She will give a public lecture, “On Curating, Context, and Intention,” on Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium. Her talk will highlight her experiences creating projects for different audiences and contexts (institutional, independent and unusual), and discuss recent exhibitions and projects on feminism, sports, punk and more.

Suparak will jury the exhibition Wednesday & Thursday, Nov. 2-3, selecting the work and three Juror’s Awards of Excellence. Other awards that will be presented at the reception include: President’s Prize in Art, College of Fine Art Dean’s Awards (Margaret Brown Krecker Prize in Art and Sina Sidwell Rodgers Prize in Fine Arts), Director’s Choice Award, Excellence in Art Award from Lamborn’s, and Excellence in Art Award from The College Bookstore.

The Undergraduate Juried Exhibition reception and award ceremony will be held in the Ohio University Art Gallery in Seigfred Hall 536 on November 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibition will be on display from Nov. 8-Dec. 3 with open gallery hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
