The Trimble Lady Tomcats (6-11) traveled to Federal Hocking to take on the Lady Lancers (9-9) Wednesday night. Federal Hocking’s offense was too much to handle for the Lady Tomcats and dominated in a 53-28 victory.

Trimble had a hard time handling Federal Hocking’s pressure. They really struggled getting the ball across half court, and didn’t even get a shot attempt until the six-minute mark.

Federal Hocking was trigger happy from three, Hannah Dunfee made four and ended up with 22 total points. Destiny Tabler also had 17 for Federal Hocking. The Tomcats struggled on offense, turning the ball over six times and ended the first quarter down 16-5.

The Trimble offense picked up a bit in the second half, but their defense was still shaky. Trimble switched from a 2-3 zone to man defense with little improvement. Although Trimble found the basket a bit more this quarter, the turnovers continued. Federal Hocking led 29-13 at half.

Not much changed in the second half. Trimble struggled on offense while Federal Hocking continued to cause problems for the Tomcats.

Federal Hocking had 22 offensive rebounds and 12 steals, which led to many easy buckets.

Trimble didn’t score their first point in the fourth quarter until there was two minutes left. They had no answer for the Lady Lancer defense. The Tomcats struggled from the line during the second half. They only scored five the entire quarter and ended up losing 58-23.

Sydney Hardy continued to be one of the only scoring options for Trimble and ended up with seven points as Breanna Brammer shot 75 percent from the floor.

The Trimble Lady Tomcats will face Grove City Christian at home on Saturday, Feb 4. Federal Hocking plays Wahama at home on Feb. 4 as well.
