WOUB-TV Premiering 20.2 CLASSIC and 20.3 LIFE April 1
< < Back to woub-tv-premiering-20-2-classic-and-20-3-life-april-1Starting April 1 at midnight – no foolin’ – WOUB-TV will be offering its 35-county viewership a line-up of classic public television picks on their revamped 20.2 and 20.3 channels. Click here for the new programming line-up.
WOUB 20.2 CLASSIC will now feature the likes of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Clifford the Big Red Dog, The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross, and many others. Formerly the home of MHz Worldview, 20.3 is now called WOUB LIFE. One of the most popular feature from MHz’s programming, Japan’s NHK WORLD news network, will now be a part of WOUB-TV’s 20.3 LIFE channel. WOUB LIFE 20.3 will also feature more documentaries and international news (including Deutsche Welle News).
“This was an opportunity for us to provide a diversity of programming to our viewers,” said Joan Butcher, WOUB’s Director of Program Services. “What we chose to broadcast on WOUB CLASSIC 20.2 is the sort of programming that people who grew up with public television associate with public television.”
On Friday nights, viewers will also be treated to a Friday Night Movie on WOUB CLASSIC 20.2, featuring movies of the ‘50s, ’60s, and ’70s.
Butcher emphasized that the change is intended to more properly serve the station’s viewership.
“Years ago, when I started in the public media business, my colleague told me: we are a service, not a system,” she said. “By providing more locally selected programming, WOUB can better serve our viewers.”
