A tip was received by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office leading to the arrest of two men in connection with the break-in.
On Friday, investigators received information about “possible suspected who were in possession of stolen property in Logan and attempting to sell it,” according to a press release by the sheriff’s office.
Lloyd Maffin, 18, and Hunter Maher, 18, both of Logan, were located and questioned.
“During the interviews, it was determined that both Maffin and Maher were involved with the break-in/theft of items from Movies 10/The Fun Barn,” the release stated.
Both were arrested on burglary charges, and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
A third suspect, Dillon M. Deible, 20, last known to be from the Logan area, is also wanted for questioning.
“Items taken from the Fun Barn were recovered in a residence in Logan that both Maffin and Maher were residing,” the press release stated.
The release did not specify what items were found.
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating a break-in at the movie theater just outside Nelsonville.
In the initial incident report released by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning from employees who “reported they heard a door being accessed.” Once on scene, deputies found all the doors were secured and no sign of forced entry. Deputies patrolled the area and didn’t find anyone else on the property before leaving the scene.
But in a second press release sent out later Thursday morning, Athens County Sheriff Rodney Smith said employees discovered signs of a break-in when they arrived to open up business later that morning. The investigation is on-going.
