Under the lights in Racine, Ohio, Wahama and Southern matched up in a thriller where Southern came away with the 27-21 victory.

The stadium was packed with fans cheering loudly for their team alongside both team’s marching bands. Perfect conditions for a thriller of a football game. This was a back and forth affair beginning in the quarter with the Tornadoes and White Falcons trading touchdowns within minutes of each other.

Southern’s Riley Roush, a name to remember, scored the first touchdown of the night. Wahama responded with a 3 yard run from Christian Thomas to even the score at seven. For the rest of the first half, Wahama had no answer for Roush, but it was only the start of the Riley Roush show.

Southern used Roush to score two more touchdowns before the second quarter to bring the score to 21-7. As the third quarter began it was almost as if Wahama was playing a whole new game.

The White Flacon defense was able to halt the red hot Tornado offense and allowed their own offense to do some work.

With seven minutes left in the third quarter, Wahama scored a rushing touchdown to tighten the score 21-14. Minutes later, the White Falcons struck again and prove to everyone, they were here to play. Tie game 21-21.

A quarter of defense ensued and brought the game into overtime. Wahama got the ball to start and turned it over on downs, time for Roush to make his curtain call. Southern put its trust in Roush and walked away from this game with their hopes high and a 3-0, perfect record, intact. Final score Southern Tornadoes 27, Wahama White Falcons 21.
