Alexander Opens TVC-Ohio Play at Athens
< < Back toThe beginning of TVC-Ohio action for Alexander (1-2) and Athens (2-1) will, naturally, have many implications for both teams.
Alexander, despite matching its win total from last season already, has looked dismal, getting blown out in two consecutive weeks. They head into this week against an Athens team with lots of momentum, fresh off of a dominant victory against Watkins Memorial.
The defense from Athens has been stellar and was a major talking point for coach Ryan Adams as to what has been successful for them thus far. He also wants his offensive line to work on their protection of quarterback Clay Davis, and says that the quarterback has excellent targets if he can get enough time and space to throw accurate passes.
Overall, Athens has the weapons to come out looking very dominant once again. Alexander hopes to work on remaining aggressive and eliminating mistakes that ultimately slow them down and make victory so much more of an uphill battle. They will look to eliminate Athens’ big play opportunities and keep the game close.
It’s about not falling behind again for Alexander. Spartan head coach Earich Dean was very happy with how the team battled last week against Sciotoville East and they’ll look to keep that fight against an athletically superior team in Athens.
