1. Southeastern (1-0) 4-0

Southeasern remains the only team left in the SVC who is undefeated. Southeastern sits in the number one spot because they are clearly dominant. Each week, Southeastern wins significantly, the closest game they still won by 18 points ( 40-22 against South Charleston in week 2). Dakota Houser has continued to be a weapon offensively.

2. Zane Trace (1-0) 3-1

Zane Trace is near the top of the leader board because of its versatility. Last week, Westfall was unable to stop Zane Trace because the Pioneer defense was extremely threatening and nearly unbreakable. The talent is widely distributed among Zane Trace and they are strong at switching up running and passing game making it near unpredictable for opponents.

3. Unioto (1-0) 3-1

Unioto’s defense has proven to be its strength. Just last week, the Unioto Tanks defense caused three turnovers. Week one they forced six turnovers and had a defensive TD. They struggled week three against undefeated Waverly. Although it was close at half with a 12-10 score, they ended up losing 31-17.

4. Paint Valley (0-1) 1-3

Paint Valley may not have a great starting record for this season, but the reason they take the fourth spot is that they’ve been contenders in their losses. They started out with a win in their season opener and in week two Paint Valley lost to Williamsburg 21-20. They went for a two-point conversion to take the lead and fell short. Their record may not show it, but they can compete.

5. Piketon (1-0) 1-3

Piketon has struggled throughout the first half of the season. Although they began the season with some losses, they have shown progression. Improvement shined through in week 4 with a win over Paint Valley (34-13). They could be finding their rhythm for the rest of the season.

6. Adena (0-1) 1-3

Adena started out week one strongly then that momentum quickly came to a halt. Offense has struggled since then scoring zero points in week two, six points week three and 14 points week four. Although they are struggling and have come out with three losses, their offense has showed steady improvement since week two.

7. Westfall (0-1) 1-3

Westfall has struggled in the start of this season to complete plays on offense. A strong point for them is quarterback Zach Gibson, who has a strong ability of viewing the field, but they struggle as he is not left with much time. Their defense also struggles against teams with strong offense such as Zane Trace in week four.

8. Huntington (0-1) 1-3

Huntington has struggled this season both offensively and defensively. They showed strengths in win in week three but other than this they have struggled in the first half of the season.
