New Addiction Treatment Facility Expects to Open in March

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – An official says West Virginia University Medicine plans to open a new residential addiction treatment facility in March.
WVU Medicine spokeswoman Amy Johns told The Dominion Post that’s when officials expect to start accepting patients at the $12 million facility in Morgantown.
Johns said the facility will offer 30 residential treatment beds and 12 detox beds, and it will abide by the Hazelden Betty Ford model of offering a 28-day program of intensive residential care.
She says the mission of the center is to offer a comprehensive program that leads to recovery for patients with all forms of substance use disorders, including drugs and alcohol.
Johns said the facility is part of WVU Medicine’s commitment to combating the addiction epidemic ravaging West Virginia.
