SamJam Bluegrass Festival Returns to Piketon Labor Day Weekend

This year the festival features the likes of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Turning Ground, The Cleverlys, and many more.
WOUB’s Emily Votaw spoke to the festival’s organizers, Rick Green and Sam Carr, about the festival’s humble beginnings, their personal relationships with bluegrass, and the importance of the event to the region.
Right in the middle of the festival, WOUB will be celebrating bluegrass with the airing of The Big Family: the Story of Bluegrass on Friday, August 30 at 9 p.m. on WOUB-TV. Check out the trailer for the feature below.
