SUGAR GROVE, Ohio- The Alexander Spartans planned a successful invasion of Berne Union Rockets when the two teams took the field on Friday night. The Spartans commanded the field as they defeated Berne Union, 33-12.

Both teams came into the game following wins to lead off the season.

The battle at the line of scrimmage became a major factor as soon as the opening drive got underway. Alexander’s senior quarterback Kaleb Easley broke the scoreless tie late in the opening quarter with a short run to ignite both offenses. He would end the night with 90 rushing yards.

Kaleb Easley’s night would not end there. He would end the first half with two more touchdowns. Matthew Brown was found open for both scores as they ballooned their lead to 15 going into the second half.

Nick Heilman led the charge for the Rockets. His night took off as he broke tackles early in the ballgame and blasted into the end zone with a 60-yard run. Heilman would finish the game with two touchdowns to his name.
