Since 2015, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has killed more than 2,400 Barred Owls in a controversial experiment to stop the Spotted Owls rapid decline. The agency says it’s too early to know if it’s working, but critics say it’s wrong to kill one species to save another, even a threatened one.
