Ohio stayed unbeaten in the 2019-20 season on Wednesday night with a 81-72 win over Iona.

Jason Preston was the main guy offensively for the Bobcats, posting a career-high 27 points.

His 10 made field goals were also a career high. All 10 made field goals can be viewed in the video below.

Preston made two 3-pointers off the bounce, something that wasn’t really in his arsenal last season.

Preston is currently averaging 18 PPG 9 RPG and 9.7 APG for the Bobcats.

Note: All film acquired through Ohio men’s basketball.

Senior Jordan Dartis didn’t have his best night offensively. He was 3-9 from the field, and only scored 13 points.

Where Dartis made his impact was on the defensive end of the floor. The start of the game was dominated by the senior with his defensive effort and positioning.

Lunden McDay made four jump-shots against Iona. Seeing him make the defense pay for leaving his open was crucial for Ohio’s spacing.

Defensively, McDay was awesome as usual. The video below has his made jump-shots and defensive highlights.

Ohio only played their bench 21 total minutes in the game. Mason McMurray, Nolan Foster, and Nate Springs were the only bench players to get into the game.

Despite not getting a lot of minutes in the game, the bench made some nice plays on both sides of the ball. The bench shot 4-5 from the floor and scored 10 total points.

All three of these players are in their freshman season. Seeing young players make an impact in limited minutes helps the future outlook for the program.

Ohio continues their 2019-20 season on Saturday when the Bobcats take on Villanova. Tip off for that game is at noon and can be viewed on FS2.
