After infecting tens of thousands in China, the novel coronavirus has reached dozens of other countries — at least 48 in total.

Public health officials say it’s almost inevitable the illness will spread more extensively within the U.S.

So what do we know about COVID-19, and how can we prepare for a broader outbreak? PBS NewsHour’s Amna Nawaz reports and talks to Dr. Peter Hotez of Baylor College of Medicine.
