Hocking County Confirms First Case Of COVID-19

As of Saturday, April 11, Hocking County has one confirmed case and one probable case of COVID-19.

According to a release, the Hocking County Health Department is not detailing any demographic information as a way of protecting the privacy of the patient(s), adding that they are, “following established guidelines for the investigation of infectious diseases and will be working on contract tracing and will be in touch with anyone who has come into contact with the patient.”

The Ohio Department of Health confirmed 6,250 cases of COVID-19 and 1,859 hospitalizations at 2 p.m. on Saturday. There have been 247 reported deaths related to COVID-19 in Ohio. Read more at the DOH’s coronavirus website.

To date, Vinton County stands out as the only county in southeast Ohio without any confirmed cases. Vinton County is the least populated county in the state.
