Unemployed Ohioans Asked To File Claims On New Schedule
< < Back to unemployed-ohioans-asked-to-file-claims-on-new-scheduleCOLUMBUS, Ohio (WOUB) — The state of Ohio believes it has found a faster way to get unemployment benefits to the people approved to get them.
Ohioans are now being encouraged to file their weekly claims on specific days of the week. The new schedule begins Sunday, April 26, and is based on the first letter of your last name:
Sunday: | A through H |
Monday: | I through P |
Tuesday: | Q through Z |
Anyone can file on Wednesday through Saturday but according to a press release from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), the quickest way to get the benefits is to opt for “electronic correspondence” and call in the weekly claims on the designated days.
ODJFS Director Kimberly Hall says,”Once a claim is processed, payment can be made by direct deposit within three business days.”
