Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, Big Star, and R.E.M.) performed “One Morning,” “Fireflies,” as well as “Whatever Hell” with Karen Allen (Crazy Jane, Tofujitsu, and Fabulous Head) in WOUB’s Radio A on February 28, 2020.
Stringfellow stopped at WOUB just a few hours before his “Touched and More” tour performance with Karen Allen at Donkey Coffee early in the evening of Friday, February 28. An especially impassioned performance of “One Morning” (towards the end, listen for a shout out to Donkey!) and “Fireflies,” two deeper cuts from Touched kicked off the performance. Allen and Stringfellow closed out their Radio A performance with “Whatever Hell” from Stringfellow’s 2015 Ken & Holly (Muñoz) album The Record, a concept record written as a response to Willie Nelson’s 1975 Red Headed Stranger.
