Athens County Offices Detail New Protocols For Reopening
< < Back to athens-county-offices-detail-new-protocols-for-reopeningATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — Officials in Athens County are outlining new procedures for anyone visiting Athens County offices as the state slowly reopens from from the coronavirus-induced closings.
According to a press release, the Athens County Annex building and the Courthouse will only be accessible through the Courthouse’s security entrance under the steps at 15. S Court Street. Visitors will also be asked screening questions before entering and need to wear masks.
- The Courthouse or the Annex building will be open for visitors from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. is reserved for seniors and individuals who are at high risk for COVID-19.
- Documents can be dropped off at the lock boxes on the first floor of the Courthouse Annex.
- The County Planner’s and Engineer’s offices are conducting business by phone and email.
- The County Sheriff’s office can be accessed by phone outside the office. Access is limited to one person
at a time.
Visitors are still encouraged to call ahead or conduct business over the phone while the current stay at home order is in effect through Friday, May 29.
