Nationwide Warrant Issued After Alleged Rape In Athens County

ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — Law enforcement officials are on the hunt for Mathew Bode, a 21-year-old man accused of rape.
The Athens County Grand Jury just recently indicted Bode on two counts of rape – but the case against him stems back to an incident that allegedly took place “on or about” September 6 – 7, 2019.
According to authorities, Bode raped a woman who he knew was “substantially impaired because of a mental or physical condition or because of advanced age.”
The Athens County Prosecutor’s Office has issued a nationwide warrant for Bode’s arrest.
Bode’s described as a Caucasian male with blonde hair, blue eyes, approximately 5’6″and 135 pounds. His last known address was 68 N. High Street in Athens.
