Every year Ohio University’s School of Fine Arts provides a wide variety of summer art programming for children and teens — much of it designed to acquire early college credit for students interested in pursuing the fine arts.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the in-person portion of that programming will be impossible, which poses both some serious issues as well as some unexpected benefits for both those working to create the programming and those who will be benefitting from it.

WOUB spoke to Kate Hampel, Director of Summer Programs for the College of Fine Arts and Assistant Professor of Instruction, Foundations and Sculpture + Expanded Practice, about the reimagined summer arts programming. Find more on what sort of courses are being offered this summer, as well as register for programming, at this link: www.ohio.edu/fine-arts/summer-arts-programs.
