Give to the WOUB Autumn Radio Pledge Drive THIS WEEKEND!

ATHENS, OH – There are many reasons people listen to and enjoy WOUB FM. For some, it’s the reliable news and information coming from NPR and the WOUB newsroom. For others, it’s the unique music and entertainment programming. Whatever your reason – we’re giving you the opportunity to show your support for it during our Autumn Radio Pledge Drive.

“We know that the Coronavirus pandemic brought many people to WOUB for the latest news and information,” said WOUB General Manager Mark Brewer. “Others listen to our music and entertainment programming during the evenings and weekends to just take a break from it all. That’s why we decided to conduct this pledge drive from Wednesday through Sunday, so you can pledge your support for the programming that means the most to you.”
But WOUB also realizes that getting the latest news and information during this time is vitally important, and with that in mind, we’re limiting our program interruptions, so you don’t miss a thing.
“The news is changing every hour,” said Brewer. “Keeping the news coming means keeping on-air fundraising to a minimum.”
Thanks to several of WOUB’s loyal supporters who contributed matching funds, there will be several opportunities throughout the drive for donors to make more of an impact. The matching dollars will be used to match contributions dollar for dollar from new sustaining members and current members who become sustaining monthly donors. The matching funds will help WOUB raise a lot of our fundraising dollars without interrupting the news.
