Artist Profile: Beach Girl

Those familiar with the Athens music scene may have seen Marcy Adams perform live around town with their band Electric Guitar. Unsurprisingly, Electric Guitar has been put kind of on hiatus thanks to COVID-19, and as sad and disappointing as this year is, Marcy isn’t letting that stop them from pushing forward and collaborating with other remotely on their new musical project, Beach Girl. I had the pleasure of speaking with Marcy recently about all of this, their own take on emotional honesty in pop music and on what “hyperpop” even is.
