< < Back to alexander-wins-home-opener-in-defensive-slug-festALBANY, Ohio (WOUB) – The Alexander Spartans played host to the South Point Pointers Friday night in their week 2 home opener. Both teams came into the matchup 0-1 hungry for their first win of the season, and they both showed that hunger on the field.
The game started out as a gridiron stalemate, but the Alexander offense came alive in the second quarter, with quarterback Jordan Schultz throwing two touchdowns to give the Spartans the lead.
That and the defensive leadership of freshman captain linebacker Isaac Waller proved the difference as Alexander hung on to defeat South Point 14-8.
