Vinton County Lady Vikings look to repeat historic ’21-’22 season
< < Back to vinton-county-lady-vikings-look-to-repeat-historic-21-22-seasonAfter a season of great success with a record of 26-2 finishing first in the TVC-Ohio and one win shy of a state championship, the Vinton County Vikings enter the season under new leadership.
The Vikings filled the shoes of legendary coach, Rod Bentley, with the man he has been mentoring, Brett Jones.
Along with the loss of their head coach, Vinton County said goodbye to all-state first team Morgan Bentley and all-state honorable mention Myriah Davis.
The Vikings will look to aa-state second team, Cameron Zinn, to lead the charge for the hopes of another successful season.
“I know I need to be a bigger threat offensively since we lost about 30 points a game with Morgan and Myriah,” Zinn said about her role this season. “I just know I need to become a scorer this year and that is what I really worked on.”
Vinton County takes the season one game at a time and will look to continue this mindset with the hopes of reaching the team’s full potential.
