< < Back to trimble-fumble-conference-clinching-game-with-loss-to-waterfordGLOUSTER, Ohio (WOUB) — It was senior night for the Trimble ladies as they took on Waterford. A win in this game would have meant a secured top spot in the TVC Hocking.
The Waterford girls came out on fire from the tip and ran the floor.
They pressured the ball on defense and controlled the tempo of the game. This sparked turnovers for the Tomcats and quick transition buckets for the Wildcats.
The Trimble girls had 12 turnovers at halftime, and 11 of those were steals by Waterford. The score at halftime was 22-37, leaving the tomcats with a gap to fill.
They came out of the locker room and scored first, but even their new energy wouldn’t be enough to that gap.
The Trimble girls did manage to cut down their turnovers in the second half, which is something they need to continue to do to make their tournament run. In the end, it was the Wildcats everywhere.
They continued with their high-intensity press in the second half, and the final score was 59-37, a Waterford. The Tomcats play South Gallia next, on February 3rd.
