Vinton County relied on a stellar night behind the arc. The Vikings collectively shot 12/35 accounting for 36 of their 63 points. They were led by two strong offensive performances from seniors Cameron Zinn and Lacie Williams. Zinn finished the night 18 points and eight rebounds and Williams dropped 15 points and pulled down three rebounds.
The Tomcats were able to keep up with the Vikings throughout the first three quarters never falling behind by more than six in that time. Jayne Six was a monster down low leading the Tomcats in scoring with 21 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Laikyn Imler also turned in a strong performance finishing with a 10-point, 10 rebound double-double.
Turnovers were once again the Tomcats downfall. They turned it over 19 times on the night including a few costly turnovers that allowed Viton County to pull away in the fourth quarter. Further contributing to the Tomcats collapse in the fourth quarter was their shooting performance scoring just 6 points in the final frame.
The Tomcats will look to clinch a share of the TVC-Hocking when they travel to Crown City to take on the South Gallia Rebels before beginning the OHSAA Tournament by hosting the Sectional Final.
