ATHENS, OH – Dave Wingert’s successful career as a nationally syndicated radio personality started in the FM booth at WOUB. Wingert will be the next WOUB Wednesday speaker on March 2 at 7:30 p.m. ET. WOUB Wednesdays is a program that gives former WOUB students the opportunity to conduct a virtual conversation with current students and other alumni. The speaker talks about their career experiences and takes questions from those in attendance.

“WOUB Wednesdays are a great way to provide students the opportunity to talk with industry professionals virtually,” said WOUB Director of Student Professional Development Michael Rodriguez.

Wingert graduated from Ohio University in 1970. Wingert worked in Seattle for 20 years and created a nationally syndicated radio show called Dave Til Dawn. The show ran for about six years and was heard on almost 100 stations across the country. Wingert is now the morning host at Boomer Radio in Omaha. He has also been inducted into the Nebraska Broadcasting Association’s Hall of Fame as a “Legendary Personality.”

“Throughout spring semester, we have several former WOUB students scheduled to talk with current students and alumni,” said WOUB Community Engagement Manager Cheri Russo. “The former students are excited to share what they have learned out in the industry with current and former WOUB students.”

The virtual discussions are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and are open to all current and former WOUB students as well as WOUB staff. Those interested can register at  bit.ly/WOUBWednesday  Registration is required for each session.
