In a game that many thought would be very competitive throughout, it didn’t feel that way early on. On John Glenn’s opening drive, the Generals were able to force a three and out in under two minutes and put the ball in the hands of quarterback Reid Packer.
Reid handled the first drive well on offense, leading his team down the field for the first score of the game. It was Justin Munyan punching it in from a few yards out to put the Generals up 7-0.
With the ball back in the hands of the Muskies, they weren’t able to get anything going. Just total yard was all that was gained in their second drive of the night.
This would set Sheridan up nicely with Justin Munyan scoring again. This time he was able to break off a huge 56 yard run down the sideline as he waltzed in for six, and just like that, with only eight minutes off the clock, Sheridan’s revenge tour was alive and well as they were up 14-0.
It would remain that way until about eight minutes left in quarter number two when quarterback Noah Winland was able to find the endzone from oneyard out, completing a very well executed 71-yard Muskie drive.
It was the only time in this game that they would put points on the board due to a very strong Sheridan defense.
The score remained the same going into halftime, with the Generals leading by one touchdown, 14-7, but that was short lived as right out of the break Caden Sheridan rushed 74 yards for the score on the first play of the half. Sheridan led 21-7 at this point and never looked back.
Their defense did not give up a single point in the second half, and they hung on to win this one by that very score, improving their record to 4-1 on the season. They will take on River View next week as they go for its fourth win in a row.
With the loss John Glenn drops to 1-4 and will look to turn things around and get back on the winning side next week against Meadowbrook.
