NEWPORT, Kentucky (WOUB) — Coaxing impressive grooves from his sparkly anime six-string bass, Grammy winning progressive R&B artist and beloved anime nerd Thundercat performed at the MegaCorp Pavilion (101 W 4th Street) in Newport, KY September 6, 2022.

Known by his stage name Thundercat, Steven Brumer is as talented and practiced as he is charming. Appealing particularly to fellow nerds, his lyrics and fashion statements often reference his interest in anime, video games, cartoons (such as his namesake, the famous 1980s animated TV series), Japanese culture, and cats.
