Every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar during WOUB’s Double Days Double Dollars Radio Pledge Drive

ATHENS, OH – Thanks to matching donations from several longtime members, WOUB is holding its first Double Days Double Dollars Radio Pledge Drive this week. Every donation made during the limited two-day drive on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21 will be matched dollar for dollar.
“This is the first time we’ve ever done anything like this,” said General Manager Mark Brewer. “We need to ask members to support our programming, but we want to limit pledge drive interruptions to that programming as much as possible. Thanks to generous donations from current members, we are able to offer dollar-for-dollar matches for every donation that comes in during this limited two-day drive.”
Member support is crucial for WOUB to be able to continue to provide the quality public media programming people in this region have come to rely on. The goal for the two-day drive is $17,000. If that goal is reached, then WOUB will not conduct another on-air radio pledge drive until February.
“Donations from our members directly support the local and national news programming that help bring this important information to our region, as well as the regional music and entertainment programming,” said Brewer. “We know that our listeners value what they hear on WOUB, and we know they will welcome the chance to double their impact by making a donation during this special short pledge drive.”
