Local/regional artists will be featured on Crossing Boundaries

ATHENS, OH – WOUB is participating in the third annual Public Radio Music Day which will take place on October 26, 2022. Bryan Gibson will mark the day with a special program dedicated to regional musicians during Crossing Boundaries from 7 to 10 p.m.

“WOUB’s music programming has always been about celebrating the unique music of our three-state, 55 county region,” said Gibson. “I’m excited to feature local and regional artists and share more of their music with the community.”

Public Radio Music Day is about uniting public radio music stations, artists, and fans to highlight the contributions of public radio to local and national noncommercial music. This year’s theme is “Discovering the Sound of Local Communities.”

“Public radio music stations throughout the country play music and feature local artists that highlight the story of their region and cultures within their community,” said Marta McLellan Ross, NPR Vice President of Government and External Affairs. “We want to showcase their collective mark on shaping the sound of local communities for generations to come.”

Local and regional artists that will featured during Crossing Boundaries on October 26 include:

Adam Remnant (Athens, OH)

Renee Stewart Band (Pomeroy, OH)

Corduroy Brown (Huntington, WV)

Bruce Dalzell (Athens, OH)

Cutler Station (Vincent, OH)

Ben Davis Jr. (Jackson, OH)
