The new schedule will begin Monday, February 6

ATHENS, OH – In response to viewer feedback, PBS is working with member stations like WOUB to make changes to the daytime TV programming schedule. The new schedule on WOUB HD (20.1/44.1) begins Monday, February 6.

“These changes are being made to ensure we serve our audiences with the programs they value at all times of the day,” said WOUB Director of Program Services Joan Butcher. “The changes will allow WOUB to introduce new series to the schedule at times that work best for the intended audience.”

Children’s programs like Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger, Curious George, and Wild Kratts will air weekdays on WOUB-HD from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Beginning at 3 p.m., the weekday afternoon schedule will consist of Chef’s Life, This Old House, and repeats of weekly primetime programs–including Antiques Roadshow, Finding Your Roots, and Nature. Beginning Tuesday, February 7 at 6 p.m., BBC World News Outside Source will begin. State of Ohio will move from Sundays at 4:30 pm to Fridays at 8:30 p.m. starting February 10.

The new PBS children’s series, Work it Out Wombats, premieres on Monday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. The series follows a playful trio of marsupial siblings who live with their grandmother in a fantastical treehouse apartment complex. Work It Out Wombats! introduces preschoolers to a way of thinking that enables them to solve problems, express themselves, and accomplish tasks using the practices, processes, and ideas at the core of computer science, laying important groundwork for success in school and life.

WOUB’s PBS Kids Channel (20.6/44.6) will continue to provide children’s programming 24/7 – year-round.

In addition to on-air programming on WOUB’s primary channel and the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel, users can stream PBS KIDS content online anytime for free at https://pbskids.org/video
