The first edition of WOUB Culture’s Canvas e-newsletter goes out today (March 1)

ATHENS, OH – WOUB Culture is launching a new weekly email newsletter called Canvas to keep you up to date about regional arts and music events, along with WOUB programming, designed to help you plan your activities for the week ahead.

“At WOUB, a large part of our audience follows us for our music and arts programming and content,” said WOUB Arts and Culture Reporter Emily Votaw. “We want to provide an easily accessible place for folks to find out what’s going on in regional arts and music.”

The newsletter will be released on Wednesdays and will serve as a weekly repository of information on arts and culture, events, and music-oriented WOUB content and programming. There will be highlights from both the WOUB-TV and radio schedules, plus a weekly playlist focusing on regional music. Additionally, Canvas will be a place to find information about upcoming content on the WOUB culture page.

“I’m really excited about not only streamlining my own work but streamlining my ability to provide the kind of information about arts and culture and music events to our audience,” said Votaw.

In the first edition, readers can look forward to information about an upcoming WOUB Culture interview with the cast and crew of Arts West’s production of the Tony Award winning musical Once, as well as a lengthy playlist spotlighting local artists performing in the region over the next week.

Be in the know about local music performances, art shows, plays, WOUB radio music shows and PBS cultural entertainment programming. Sign up to receive Canvas in your inbox now at bit.ly/WOUBCanvas.
