JACKSON, Ohio (WOUB) – The Jackson Ironmen hosted the Ironton Fighting Tigers for Senior night. The Fighting Tigers won this game 51-14 after a strong second half finish.

The Ironmen elected to receive the first half kickoff, and they came out with a bang. On the first play of the game Bodhi Wolford found Nolan Johnson on a checkdown pass and he took it 73 yards for a touchdown. Next Drive, Ironton had a 4th and 10 on Jackson’s 20-yard line and Bodhi Wolford picked off Brayden Schreck.

Yet, it would take until the second quarter for someone to find the end zone again.

Similar to the first play of quarter one, the second quarter started the same as Zayne Williams scored a 10-yard touchdown. The Fighting Tigers missed the extra point to make the score 7-6 Ironton.

Next drive, Jackson had a huge pickup on 3rd and 8 as Wolford found Johnson again. On the next play the Fighting Tigers forced a fumble to give Ironton the ball back with great field position. The Fighting Tigers marched down the field as D’Edrick Graves punched it in from 8 yards.

The Ironmen struck again on the next drive with a 1-yard quarterback sneak to give Jackson the 14-12 lead. This game was back and forth between the Fighting Tigers and Ironmen for one and a half quarters.

This finally ended when Ironton regained the lead with a Shaun Terry 31-yard run to the house with a minute and 33 seconds left before halftime.

The Fighting Tigers forced a three-and-out and got the ball back with 35 seconds left until half. Brayden Schreck would deliver a 14-yard strike to Braydon Baker to extend the lead to 24-to-14. Ironton missed three out of three extra points and one two-point conversion.

The Fighting Tigers held the Ironmen to zero points in the second half of this game and scored 27 points to run the score up to 51-14.
