NEW CONCORD, Ohio (WOUB)- The Sheridan Generals (3-2) took a trip to play the John Glenn Little Muskies (3-2). The Generals would take the game 23-17, leaving John Glenn’s homecoming crowd devastated.

The Little Muskies started with the ball, trying to see what worked. Sheridan shut them down with a three-and-out. After a short punt from John Glenn, the Generals started their first drive with great field position.

Sheridan took to the field with the run on their mind. Running back Luke Link strung together some strong runs to get the Generals in the red zone. Quarterback Tyce Whiteman dropped back to get an easy pass over the middle, but defensive back Jake Johnson broke it up with some quick hands. Sheridan did take the field goal, making it 3-0 Generals.

The Little Muskies weren’t too happy giving Sheridan the early lead, and Running back Reece Metzger made it known, returning the ball an incredible 90 yards. This put John Glenn up, ending the first half 7-3.

The Little Muskies took to the air in the second half, but this did not end in their favor. Jake Johnson threw an interception to Evan Anderson, giving the Generals the ball deep in enemy territory.

Sheridan was able to chunk together some big plays, but multiple penalties slowed down their momentum. After a timeout, Whiteman extended a play and threw a prayer to Conner Roshon, who came down strong, landing the Generals on the 5-yard line. Link capped off the drive for the Generals by punching in a touchdown and stealing the lead right back 10-7

John Glenn drove down the field with an obvious connection between Owen Edwards and Ryder Pennington. Pennington secured two back-to-back passes for 30 yards total. The only thing that could break up their connections was Evan Anderson’s speed and precision. Anderson brought down his second interception to end the first half.

Sheridan would score another touchdown, dimming the Little Muskie’s hope, but Edwards would lead a drive and find Cannon Fox in the endzone. Along with a field goal, this was enough to push this game into overtime.

The Generals would take this game in overtime, scoring a touchdown and shutting John Glenn’s defense down.

Sheridan Will take the win home, preparing to host Riverview (0-4).

John Glenn will have to make changes as they head to Meadowbrook (2-3).
